Auntie Anne’s in USA

Auntie Anne's is the most consistently international brand in our data relative to its size - It trades in all eleven of the legacy markets we track, which McDonald's, KFC and Starbucks also manage but few others do.

The reason is the format. A pretzel stand needs a very small footprint, a short menu and almost no kitchen, which makes it viable in mall concourses and transit hubs where a full restaurant could never fit. Low fixed cost per site is what makes a wide international estate possible.

Our index prices eleven Auntie Anne's products, more than most brands. The Original Pretzel runs from about $1.19 in Thailand to $6.42 in Ireland, and the caramel dip appears in nine markets.

About Auntie Anne’s

Twisting Together Purpose and Pretzels

In 1988, Anne Beiler opened a small stand in a Pennsylvania farmers' market, aiming to support her husband's vision of providing free family counseling services. With a $6,000 loan from her father-in-law, she began selling hand-rolled soft pretzels. Anne and her husband, Jonas, refined the pretzel recipe, creating a product that quickly gained popularity. Within a year, the business expanded to multiple locations, and by 1992, Auntie Anne's celebrated the opening of its 100th store. Today, Auntie Anne's has grown into a global brand, with over 1,200 locations worldwide.

Handcrafted Goodness in Every Bite

Auntie Anne's menu offers a variety of pretzel options, from the classic Original Pretzel to the sweet Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel. Other favorites include the Sweet Almond Pretzel and the savory Pepperoni Pretzel. For those seeking bite-sized snacks, Pretzel Nuggets and Mini Pretzel Dogs are popular choices. Complementing these treats are a selection of dips, such as Cheese, Caramel, and Sweet Glaze, as well as refreshing beverages like the signature Lemonade and Lemonade Mixers.

More Than Just Pretzels

Beyond its menu, Auntie Anne's is committed to giving back to the community. The company has partnered with organizations like Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation to support childhood cancer research. Additionally, Auntie Anne's has implemented programs to donate surplus food to local hunger relief organizations. Through these efforts, Auntie Anne's continues to make a positive impact, one pretzel at a time.
